I recently bought a waterborne evoke 7'11 for my wife to use. She is an occasional sup'er and I just wanted something low cost to get her going. I was surprised by the quality of finish and weight at 9.3kgs for the bamboo version. Would come in under the $1k mark with paddle, bag and leash.

without knowing your weight and experience it's pretty hard to give advice here, but look up the surfboard warehouse online and you might find something you like To get you going.

Davo, I second looking up surfboard wharehouse. They have stores on the goldy and sunny coast if you're local. I've bought a couple of boards from them and have been really happy with the service and boards. I also he a 7'11 evoke in bamboo for surfing and I'm 172cm and 93kgs and it floats me great and really fun on the waves. I did have a minor issue with the board where a crack started after a few months and contacted the shop, took it back and they swapped under warranty with no problems at all. I paid a bit extra and upgraded to the carbon in the same size and its being going strong now for months and extremely happy. I also have a Atlantis vex profusion which was my first board and was really happy with that too but I downsized for the surf and the kids use it now. Their paddles are great too and I use the carbon feather light which is super light and I haven't snapped it yet and have worked it really hard. Definately worth a look and very helpful staff. Cheers.

Thanks for the props guys. We have a fleet of demo boards on offer so you can always try out our boards and put them through their paces at no cost. Just PM me to let me know if there is a prefered location to demo any products. Thanks again, Tim

Yep. I second Surfboard Wharehouse. Even better choice of SUPS now than before. Give them a call & they will give you their recommendations.
Quality & strength are well worth it.
