Hi
I just swapped over an ankle cuff to a calf cuff of a legrope from last season. Never bothered to do this before but I couldn't get a short leggie with a calf cuff. I thought it might be a hassle but it only took about 2 minutes and my fin key did the job.
Can you buy just the legrope without the railsaver and cuff and just bolt into existing compatible cuff an railsaver? It seems like a waste to bin the whole legrope because of fin nicks in the rope. I seem to be able to wreck a leggie in half a dozen sessions if it is a heavish beach break.
Cheers chris
You gotta sand off sharp bits on your fins.......I am in love with the 12' creatures outer reef........absurdly long but my theory is that because it is so long there is more stretch and less tendency for the leggie to catch on and stress out over a minor snag ?
Hi Gizzie,
I am about to fit a set of c-drives to my vanguard style sup and they seem pretty sharp, will give them a round over on the trailing edge this afternoon.
I have the leash plug set on the rear corner of the board, maybe this position is more prone to wrapping the legrope on the fins than the centre position.
Cheers Chris

Yes, this and try to never leave the board in a position to be pushed backwards by the wave, i.e., always push the board sideways when bailing out in front of a wave.
I had the board pushed straight back once, the new leash was cut neatly... 10 meters in front of a pier... lesson learnt!
See the 3 bailouts at the end of this video:
Hi colas,
Looking forward to trying out the c drives, it was your recommendation that got me enthused. Went for a pair of xl sides and medium centre. Plan on riding as twin with centre trailer. Keen to try sides in rear fin boxes. Heading up to Bicheno on Monday for a holiday. Hoping for good waves!
I like those rare golden moments when you a wave looms and breaks overhead and you can kick your board through the lip :)

Well, it is all fun and games... until you misjudge and get the tail of the board pushed in your ribs :-)
highvolume, cool, tell us your impressions!
