I got one about a month ago. Using it exclusively four or five times a week... love it!Its light and stiff.... as you would expect, and Ive banged it around a bit in the surf, so its stood up to quite a bit. I got the smaller blade, as thats quite enough for my size and exclusive surfing use. The shaft is about average diameter, having used wider and narrower ones, but I think one gets used to a certain size, and its not that important. One thing I especially like (as there is not a lot to really say about paddles for mine), is the handle has a good grip on it... not smooth.Got mine from SurfFX for a reasonable price...... btw.Hope this helps?

Thanks for that, not much info around about them. I like the look of them but for only $50 cheaper than the QB with its reputation its a bit hard to convince myself to go with the JP....
