looks interesting and the first new wave board from Jimmy for a while .......
=======================================
Breaking NEWS by Jimmy Lewis....NEW Super Frank coming soon!
This board looks amazing for the world wide conditions and designed to be a more stable style performance board with more of a skatey approach.
Can be ridden much shorter due to its design, increasing maneuverability for average-expert riders.
Six different size with three lean shape named
Super frank / lean
7'6 x 29.5" liters 100
8'0 x 30" liters 115
8'6 x 30.5" liters 130
Super Frank/ heavy rider
7'6 x 31" liters 121
8'0 x 31.5" liters 131
8'6 x 32" liters 141
5 futures fin box
Construction in I-Beam sandwich PVC
Amazing new graphics coming from the best factory of the world with two colour options
Orange Tequila sunrise or Green Mojito

Those look like fun boards .....quite a similar template to my JP Aus surf wide.
From Jimmy: "The bottom has a flat nose going into a relatively deep single concave (deeper than the Super Tech and World Wide boards) through the center and going into a double concave through the fin area."
Sounds cool!
HI Rossall,
Thanks for posting this article on the NEW Super Frank....I was going to post something on Seabreeze next week because I've put a few posts up recently & didn't want to be seen to be bastardising the JL brand....I've just ordered the first limited numbers of Super Franks for delivery in May....If anyone's interested let me know what size & colour you want....The Super Frank should be a Super Fun board for your quiver ![]()

Who is the Super Frank for, looks a little different to jimmys world wides and stun guns with the Widepoint far forward, guessing to promote early wave entry. Can't wait to try one
HI Hoppo,
It's for guys who want to go shorter but still keep the smaller performance squash tail....
Like my JP Aus....but Jimmy's has lots more under the bonnet. These shapes are great for smaller waves.
this one is 8 ft 8 x 32 and 136 litres so pretty similar to Jimmy's biggest Super Frank.

"7.6 by 31 (120L)would be stable and hold in more solid, hollow stuff for a 90Kg ish dude?" - yes.
However, depending on your level, it may become too big if you want to surf vertically in the pocket. No "survavibility" problems, but tightening turns in 15s overhead swells becomes tricky for my 95kg. I i am getting also the same shape in 7'3 x 29"3/4 x 105l for powerful conditions, the 120l being surprizingly fun also in small waves (at least waist size).
Here are 2 vids of my 95ks on the wide-nosed Gong Fatal 7'5" by 31 (120L):
One on glassy but unclean conditions, where you see that this kind of shape can handle waves flattening out (high tide, too much water) or suddenly hollowing a bit
What bout the 8.0 x 30 for peeps that don't like the wide boards ?? Should still be fairly stable ??

Thinking about something short & wide - JP is currently top of the list, has anyone ridden one AND the new JL board?
Mine should be arriving in a few weeks ????
Photos, feed back would be great.
Thanks, Rod.
Can't wait, getting some great feedback from Jason in Maui/Oahu on the Super Frank. Apparently he's been ripping on it at Sunset !!!
I can arrange a viewing and "quick" demo for any WA sup'ers around Perth just drop me a PM in a few weeks. Usually ride North Beach (Mettams)

Just brought the first 8x31.5 from blue plant surf in Waikiki. Had first surf this morning at Canoes/Queens
Thought I might regret buying but 20 minutes and I was feeling a lot more comfortable and catching waves .Paddle out in the dark so I didn't look a dock strait off , I found I was standing ferther forward than you would think the harder you paddle the more stable. I got a couple of bombs it fkn rips .Tried it as thruster to start will try the qwad when I get home .No doubt GizzieNZ will post some incriminating pics he be laughing his head off right now. ![]()
Hey Towball looking forward to hearing a little more about the Super Frank, sounds like the first session went well

Yep flying home tomorrow was going to take it out@ publics this morning but not much swell ![]()
First surf on the 8x31.5 @ home this morning ,hip high glassy but the swell was fresh not ideal but ok . The more I ride the more comfortable I feel I'm 5'10" around 95kg I have a bit of water over the deck not quiet to my ankles . I'm 61 yrs but this board reverses the numbers makes me think I'm 16 . Paddling in to some this morning I was going too far forward and sinking the nose, stopped my self doing that and had a blast back dooring sections and going top to bottom still riding as thruster , it is fast . I had some doubt as to whether I should have brought this board but after this morning that has gone had I have got the 8'6" it might have been a tad big . I did try to change to quads at the end but had an issue wit one of the screws can't wait to try it without the hand brake in the centre it must be even faster .All in all very pleased ![]()

HI Towball,
