Any feedback on this board would be useful.....use for flat water, little coastal trips in chop and some surfing. I use a 8ft 8 surf widebody as my dedicated surf SUP but now and again would like to take an easy paddling SUP out around the coastline and take in a few waves too.
Have also been considering the longer longboard type SUPs (Nalu. Blend, Drive etc) but wondering if this board has some decent glide for its size and width. JPs surf great....so no worries on that side.
I'm 90 kg (plus thick wettie). Thanks
(any pics/vids would be great too.)
Yes and Yes..............will do all you want I have now owned/used the 3 of them 10'8 to 10'2 to now 9'8 (not yet sure the yes would be to the 9'8) and at 90kgs no probs on the 10'2 I am 110 kgs and was 118 when I bought the 10'8
The first pic is of the 10'8 me and the 10'2 Bernie, and then the other the 9'8
Shire.......thanks for the reply. Anything you can say on how the board performs on short trips etc etc? I am wondering if they are slow on the flat due to width? Did you use them just for the surf.? Thanks.
I reckon the longest I paddled them was about 2kms at a guess, the glide whilst not fantastic wouldn't stop you I would have thought. Just enough to be passable but not a race board, if you like

Thanks - guessed that might be the case. Probably not for me then...need a bit more glide :-)
Hmmm...90kg, wanting some glide and a bit of surfability?
Naish Nalu in 10'6 or 11'4
Starby 11'2 Blend
10'6 Fanatic Fly allround
JP allround
Coreban cruiser
all a lot more cruisy than the fusion and all but the coreban have construction options that will take a windsurf rig if you wanted to go that way too.

Yup - I think the Blend or Nalu will be it. Might be able to pick up one second hand too....my only concern is that both these boards have a bit of belly/rocker on them so might not be great on the glide despite them being a decent length. Might have to look at a flatter rockered SUP...see what is around and affordable.

Seriously just go and buy a 12'6.................anything else would seem to be a compromise...... ![]()

The young feller's got a point there.
Hey Slab,
I have paddled, ridden most of the above.
Owned a 10'8 x 34 Cabrinah (Fusion before JP took over)
I loved paddling it in flat-water because it was super stable and allowed me to relax completely while taking photos etc.
BUT... it is not particularly fast. That was fine with me, because it was so darn nice to look down at while out and about.
It surfed ok... but I traded it after 45 days, because it doesn't noseride at all.
Surfed and paddled the 10'6 Nalu... surfs very well, noserides and paddles quickly enough.... a bit less stable than the 10'8 Cabrinah
Really nice all around board.
Surfed the Bend... didn't feel good to me... quite stiff, which surprised me because I loved the much bigger Starboard Avanti.

STC - cheers for that.....yes - the slowish speed and lack of noseriding was a worry over the Fusion....love getting on the nose. My surf wide body noserides great so shame the fusion doesn't at all.
I think I'd rather have a slightly longer board than a 10 6 so I have narrowed it down to a Surftech Generator 11 6 or a Naish 11 4. I've put a post on the "other" SUP forum
as I think there are quite a few who have tried both - hopeful for some feedback.
