just after some info on the litres of these boards if anyone knows cheers K also in the site pics the ocean board looks to have a piercing nose which I like can anyone confirm this. The sonic ocean race has a very flat rocker with more of a flat water nose but is described as bulbous? Also out of the 5 sizes in the picture only one has the pieracing nose the rest are bulbous as stated in the board description?

Just saying. I trialled the 21.5 Sprint the other day and DAM that board is super stable. I reckon the wider tail is a winner. I then went out on the previous 23 inch Sprint and it was about as stable as the 21.5.

How good are they ! I also have paddled the new 21 mind you I got wet but before I did I really got a feel for the slickness of the board, the inverted bulbous nose just works so well on that thing it is interesting to watch ,kinda like a dolphins back and yes surprisingly stable I didn't think. I would have a chance on it very surprised.

I just hope they have improved their build quality because the construction of their current carbon range has been complete and utter crap.
Having spent 10K+ on current 14' range I was expecting at least industry standard construction.
Sadly there is probably more carbon in a carbon pencil.
Sorry NSP but unless you lift your game BIG time your product has no future.
DC deserves better than that and so do your customers.
The designs are good and work well in our conditions....until they self destruct.

All the DC and the new NSP boards I have seen have been super solid if anything. I thought the new Nija is over constructed and a little heavy but well built , what a shame yours wasn't the same. can I ask what year your board is breezing and what model cheers K

thanks to Warwick at Kite Republic for the board test NSP DC Sonic 14 x 24.5 carbon (not pro carbon). I'm 82kg less than a year of sup experience.

The board felt light, feels like full carbon and it looks great. The conditions were ideal (windy & choppy).
As expected with dougout the centre of gravity was stable and pridectable tippy than flat or recessed deck boards in 24" & 24.5" width.
One of the best up wind board I tried with that bulbous nose. Angle and side chop were manageable maybe because of that dugout. I'm sure this board would do great on dw run and as my inexperience on little dw runners was shocking as I forgot to step back with lack of balancing act.

in my opinion you need to be less than 80kg or go out 2 to 3 times a week and an experienced paddler.

I think you'll find the higher volume listed on the NSP website includes the displacement volume of the dugout area - hence the reference to "reserve volume" in the marketing description.
As a comparison, a 25" wide Starboard Ace would have a volume of close to 400 litres if the dugout area was included in their volume description.
Perhaps Starboard leave it out to stop people losing their mind.
Don't be alarmed, at the end of the day the board doesn't have too much volume - it's just the design.

And it works - hence why there are so many dugouts around now from other manufacturers eg. DEEP, ONE, NSP, DC, plus Starboard.

I know it's not always possible but the best thing is to try a board before we dismiss it. You'll surprise yourself on what you can paddle.

As a reference I am 6'2" 105kg and regularly paddle a 25" Ace comfortably for racing, flatwater training and DWing. It sometimes has it's challenges but the rewards far outweigh the disadvantages.

I wouldn't hesitate to paddle one of the dugouts from the other brands - they look and go awesome!

That is the best response, thanks crazybula i get it now ( took me long enough ) I own a dugout and love it about the same size as you but don't think I have the skills for a 25 ace but certainly have the 27 on my wish list cheers again it all makes sense now
