Hi,
anyone been surfing at Heaven on the Planet at Lombock? If so what is the best time of year to go for a 65 year old intermediate paddler?
thanks in advance
Greg
I was there in June this year.
I loved it, swell was reasonably "small" but still around head hight most days. I only surfed inside Ekas but found plenty of waves, minimal crowds and a friendly SUP atmosphere. Lots of repeat customers and of the 6 people there when I stayed, two were on SUPs and on their 5th+ visit.
I would say it's expensive for what it is accommodation wise, very remote and speaking to one of the blokes that had been going there for along time he was certain he got Typhoid whilst there. That being said he'd been back since. I loved it but it's a slightly quirky place.

When is the least windiest time of year - june / july?. Seen windsurfers on vid there and fairly windy.
Take a board - or are there good boards there? If not - would you get a 9'6" over there without hassles?
Steve
They have a pretty impressive selection of boards there, a few recent model Starboards etc but I didn't really look at them as I had my Short Mac with me and my own paddles, they're pretty responsive to email so you could always ask.
It was reasonably windy cross shore when I was there in June, didn't really affect the waves as there's a massive headland blocking it, just a bit more effort paddling/less pleasant .
The GF had her 9'5 Spitfire, we didn't have any issues with Airasia or Garuda on the way back to Bali.
