Hi
Slight misadventure with my board. Shattered the skin on the rail near the nose. Needing to find a recommended inexpensive repairer in Sydney South area.

Cheers
Rory

If you're close to Cronulla stop in and show the guys at Cronulla Stand Up.
They have done repairs for me in the past and have been great!

Are you sure you aren't talking about my board? I just did the same thing to my allwave in pretty much the exact spot. I've dropped mine in to get fixed here in VIC. Sorry, I can't help for NSW. Interesting though to hear someone else has had a problem with the same area.

What kind of hits did your boards take? You guys have any photos of the damage?

I've had no durability or build issues with any of my Fanatic boards but would like to be aware if there's a possible flaw in the construction.

thanks!

I thought about taking a picture after I had dropped it in to get fixed (noticed the crack on Saturday and dropped the board in Monday). The only thing I can think of that caused the damage was me landing on it after I came off a wave. The board hit my hip pretty hard and I am a fairly heavy person. That's the only thing I can put it down to. I wouldn't say it was a flaw in the construction, more of a heavy blunt object (me) landing hard on the upper part of the rail. I think it was more of hitting it at just the right angle with the right amount of force to crack it. I have come off the board many many times before and have not had any other troubles.

I have no idea how it happened and no one is owning up at my place

Looks like a heavy weight landed on it or somehow dropped on that edge.

The damage to my board was similar, but not as extensive. I just picked it up and looks like new! They even left the rail tape intact. very nice job.

Who did the repair. if they have done a great job, I'm sure guys in your area would be happy for a good repairer.

Reading this only this morning, right before I went to my surfboard racks to find two of my longboards had fallen off the wall

I took it to Stonker in Torquay. Very happy with their work!

Thanks for posting ,Rory. Agree that looks like impact damage, not some chronic manufacturing thinner than normal skin.

Also does not look much deeper than just breaking the surface of eps, most definitely fixable. May have taken on water, that should be dried out before sealing up the surface.

Hope you have a back-up board.

Looks like stonker may get some work out of the Wavesareus mishap this morning if he's in Vic.

I dropped my board in to Shannon this morning. happy with the quote. He's doing a few patch ups for me. So hoping to be able to provide a good wrap for him in a couple of weeks.

In reply to Ake... I do have a back up board but she don't turn so well

Cheers all for your posts and feedback.

Rory

Looks like the HRS construction... I had similar cracks at some fall impact multiple time and finally a broken board.
Changed to JP's woodsandwich and never impact damage anymore! (I am not a teamrider, just enthousiast user).
Must say I think allwave serie has nice shapes, but totally put off by its construction and passive customer service by F.

Haha. Not feeling so bad now.

Seriously though Craig can't blame him for not taking the repair job. Way easier to make 2 minions out of it.

Thanks for the referral Robbo,

Got my board back last week, right on time.
Shannon has done a great job. I'd take a pic but can't remember which side he fixed.
