Didn't you people just do the whole discussion about ridiculously small hybrid SUPs? You know, debates like, "whats the point. just forget the paddle. represents all that is wrong with sup surfing" and "The paddle should enhance surfing – period"?
Looks to me by the second off the top Glenno goes, "W.T.F., I might as well hold my paddle under my arm and ride this thing like the shortboard it is"? While he tries to redeem himself on the last of the wave, he has already exposed the board as a fat prone.
Nothing personal against Glen, but at least the Mo video was inspiring. I have also been enjoying watching a bit of Caio Vaz.

I know I shouldnt have but I did.
I forgot myself and just watched the surfing.
Might be because I hate watch paddles flapping around the place.![]()
I don't see anything wrong with that , in fact I think he ripped it up.
Yeah. What I thought too. Awesome flow and linking![]()
Glenn surfs with more flow than nearly any one else I have seen. His paddle work is excellent and can bury a rail better than most. His free surfing is always a pleasure to watch and you do not want him in your heat as he is a fearce competitor. How can you judge a guys surfing from watching one wave ?
just forget the paddle.
I think his paddle looks just too long. He would use it more if he shortened it.
I liked a lot his wave, the drop knee turn and quick stance switch especially. Fun and spontaneous.
And his board is nowhere near your run of the mill prone shortboard. Although short, It has GLIDE! Thats the point of riding SUPs: to have the added power and glide that cmes with added volume (compared to a prone board), and the paddle to harness it ... when we need it.

Yes its got glide. A lot of short sups dont![]()
And I think that's hit the nail on the head.
I love the glide of SUP - different from surfing.
If I want to surf a wave like a short board that's what I take out.
When I want to cruise more and for longer I take out the SUP.
What I take out is dictated by conditions and my mood.
