has anyone put a foilmount on a hypernut? I feel like there might be a little too much concave right where I want to put it - (lined up with front fins or even a little behind them) I feel like its only flat enough about 4 inches forward of that and might be too far forward.
Hi,
Below is an image of the box position on the 7'4 x 30 Hypernut Foil board

Hope this helps?
Cheers,
Marco
Marco, I guess cbuckler plans to use a stick-on mount since he wants to find a flat spot. Tuttle boxes can go anywhere, but not stick-on mounts.
thanks for the pic Marco, but yeah Colas is right. I have older hypernut - not foil version. i wanted to put foilmount where they've put the tuttle box, but it's not flat enought there.
I hope I am not hijacking the thread but out of curiosity is the Hypernut 7'4 foil board only in the Carbon construction or is it available in Starlite with the foil mount?
i've only ever seen it for sale with tuttlebox in carbon. their website would make you believe otherwise. but i think for now - only carbon

In 2017 they where only available in Carbon but for 2018 they now also come in Starlite.
Having said that they have only just been released for ordering.

Thanks, Marco. This may be a good price point for a foil board. I will look forward to this arriving stateside. Will the foil version be 7'4 again or available on different size hypernuts?

Foil Board Sizes:
6'10 x 26.5 Hypernut Foil
7'4 x 30 Hypernut Foil
8'0 x 31.5 Hypernut Foil
10'3 x 27 Freeride Foil
Stock will obviously vary country to country

Thanks Marco and cbuckler. This helps as I was thinking about installing a tuttle box in one of my boards for a foil but it might make sense to just buy a Hypernut with the mount already installed especially if I can get it in the lower cost Starlite construction. So the main question that I will have to work through myself will be at 85Kgs do I want to challenge myself on the 7'4 with the 105L or go with the 8'0 size which I know I can balance easily on.
I have the 7'4" nut I am 93kg and ride it all conditions and would love to have foil mount and foil. A higher paying job with less hours be nice too.
I Have also have a carbon 7'4" nut. I weight almost the same as 805StandUp. I don't have any problems balancing or surfing this board in clean or a little choppy water. I find it easy to catch waves. I don't think you will have a problem on this board at that weight. My 2 cents worth.

Note that for foiling, the boards doesn't matter a lot. So why chose one of the most expensive SUP board on the market to put a foil on?
See for instance this OZ guy that just took a $5 foamie, crudely glassed it and got a perfect surf foiling board....

Thank you all for your feedback. I did pick up the 7'4 with the Tuttlebox and had a chance to take it foiling behind a boat briefly this past weekend and in the surf twice (with the quad fin setup). As you mentioned, the 30" width and 105L is more than adequate for me at 85kgs. The 8'0 would have been too much size and volume. Will look forward to learning to foil and in the meantime, what a fun board to surf!
