Hi Eddie
That's not a good comparison, size wise.
I can personally ride a smaller FLOW than ACID.... but so far, I prefer the ACID
The 9'1 ACID would be around the same standability as the 8'7 FLOW, for a starting point.

Last winter I had the 9'2 FLOW and found it too big for me at 110 kg in full winter gear.
I have an 8'10 FLOW on the way and after I have some time on it I'll be able to make a meanigfull comparison to my 9'4 ACID.

Go to the bottom of the "Board Talk & Reviews" page... scroll down to the bottom to "Stand Up Paddle Brand Filters" and click the Sunova box. All the Sunova reviews and info threads will show up there.

Two very different boards I have the flow 8'7 and just picked up a acid 8'10. The acid was 3 inches longer but 6 liters less I think, the flow is super stable and super fun the acid was far less stable but on the wane felt super responsive and more aggressive. On the flow I find it very comfortable to stand on with the flat deck I found I got sore feet and had to narrow my stance with the acid. The flow is going to be my all round go to board and the acid will be for steeper faster more progressive waves as the thinner tail will hold better in the pocket of a steeper heavier wave I found I could get turns tighter and in quicker succession than the flow. Hope this helps. Rider profile 5'11 and 100kgs progressive surfer pretty confident love to slide the tail...
photos are of the flow 8'7 don't have any on the acid yet

Great feedback and I thank you both ---- I'm 6 ft 4 tall and 100 klg --- am starting to think 9 2 Flow V 9 4 Acid might be the comparison I should be considering -- Thanks again.

Look at the 8'10 flow that would be a super stable ride and the 9'4 acid would be similar

Making sense with all the good feedback, thanks again - Reading deeper into the reviews pairing a Flow and Acid seems really popular as well.
Couple of questions -
The Flow fin config. I see allows for quads - what's the feedback and general feel - Quad or 3?

Acid - 3 fin config only?

8 10 Flow and 9 1 Acid might pair up well?

Core in Geelong - does anyone know if they still have some demo's?

Thanks for info to date -- from you and Slugga

I'm thinking just 1 board and agree with your assessments --- 8 10 Flow or 9 4 Acid...

SuptheCreek....how do you rate your 9 4 all round?

While 2 boards would be great, my budget might be stretched.

Thanks again for spot on advice t.

I prefer the ride of my 9'4 Acid to all my other boards.... but it's also the board that challenges my balance skills the most.
I love the Speeed, but the Acid allows me to pump from the middle and the turns just link like silk.... smooth and flowing....like everything fits together well.

It is a joy to surf in almost anything.... built for size and juice, but surfs amazingly well in small waves.

Snappy turns, easy to pump, fast acceleration out of a turn, solid on a drop and easy to lay down a nice rail turn.

I am not a vert ripper, but it would do that easily if I had that flexibility.

If you have the skills to be comfortable on the 9'4 Acid in most conditions, it is all the board you need.
Your weight and height suggest that you are very fit, and if you are not old like me (68) it should be perfect for you.

Here's a vid of me on the 9'4 in small summer waves so you can see how it surfs in that....

and some pics of better waves

I have a 8' 10" flow and it's probably the best SUP I've ever ridden. Really stable and rips pretty well for a bigger board. I demo'd the acid at one point. I can't remember how long it was, but I do remember not liking it at all. Really tippy and difficult to paddle. Would reco the flow.
