i have the same problem.
i am 1.78m, 64kg (woman)
I love to paddle, started surfing lately and i love it too (usually not-so-high waves, for now)...
do you recommend the Fanatic Allwave 8'11 or 9'1 ?
Thanks!!!

The 9'1 is far too big for someone your weight.... experience or not. Even the 8'11 will be on the large side. I would certainly try and get a demo of the 8'5 or even the 8'3". They are awesome surfing sups..... and give you heaps of confindence on most sized waves....

Thanks Lord.
The 8'5 is only 135L, I never went on a board less then 150L. But even if i try it and can handle it easily, I am afraid that when i go for long cruises (without wave surfing, usually i go out for 1-2 hours), it will be significantly slow and not so comfortable , compering to the 8'11 or 9'1. And i will not have another board.
Also - I see that the 8'11 is 31" in width and the 8'5 is 32". And I wonder what in means, in the feeling ?

fogo... the difference between Allwave sizes, means a lot. If your weight is ok for the 8'11, you will find the 9'1 corky. The 8'11 will surf much better than the 9'1.

liat... I think that you will be very happy on the 8'11. It will paddle very nicely for you, I paddled my 8'10 on regular 6 mile runs.
I have ordered the 8'5, but have not seen one yet... my guess is that you are probably correct... the paddle characteristics of the 8'5 won't be as good as the 8'11.
Since you have just started surfing, I think you will benefit more from the 8'11 shape than the thinner railed, rounder shape of the smaller models. Just a guess, but I have owned 4 previous Allwaves and my guess is based on my knowledge of the new shape.

Another question: How will be the Naish Mana 8'10, which is only 133L vs. the Fanatic Allwave 8'11 which is 150L ? i am 64kg and for now mainly cruising, but started to surf too. Toda!

The Mana will certainly float you and surf fine, but I believe the Allwave will paddle better in flat-water... see if you can demo both on flat-water, since your new to surfing. One will speak to you
