Thought I'd make this it's own topic....

Am considering an 8'6" Starboard Hypernut.

I'm @ 6'4" around 90-95 kg. My height and skill level exclude me from the sub-8' lengths. My "go-to" short board is a JP 8'8' x32" and I surf cold, rough, confused and challenging conditions pretty regularly and have no difficulty on the JP.

Going strictly from the listed specs (each is 31.5 wide by 4" thick) I'm guessing the 8'6" Hypernut is essentially the 8' Hypernut plus 6 more inches.....as they both share the same width and thickness, the additional 7 liters of volume in the 8'6" is due to the added length.

I'd welcome the additional glide and speed. Can anyone comment on performance differences between the two?

i have a 8' HN and recently thought that a 8'6" would have been just as good but with a bit more glide and speed. Starboard rate the speed of the 8'6" as a 5.5 cf to a 3.5 for the 8'. if my 8' HN is a 3.5 then I think the JP WB is about a 3 as its slower.

So i would be interested in the responses to this as well. ( I also have a 8'8" JP WB )
