Hi, after seeing the new 14' starboard allstar that I want is $4000 I have been looking at other options. Was curious has anyone tried the deep ocean boards? Or any other recommendations for a good 14 foot ocean racing board that doesn't require selling a kidney
Sorry but do these idiots have rocks in their heads to think that a market can sustain a board priced at $4,000?
Is it just me or do the regular folk think this is fair game. Support your independent shaper like Simon and let
the big boys keep paying for endorsements elsewhere.
Cheers Oz
And not only that, he uses a fair majority of his materials etc in the making of his boards from Aus suppliers.
With the dollar conversion, the import situation will only get worse as those selling imported product can only absorb so much. But I think there is a whole other thread on this topic.
I can not say that DEEP make the best 14 or race board as I dont race. It is extremely debatable anyway.
What I can tell you is the awesome service and quality of product that DEEP make. I have a older 12.6 and a custom 10 foot mal sup from them that were exactly what I asked for, delivered on time and at quoted price (youd think that would be a no brainer but I can tell you its not always the case!!). I have also used them for repairs on various other brands boards. I have had dealings with some other custom sup makers and repairers and will never go back to them! DEEP will have my business for a long time
I am no way affiliated with DEEP (too much of a arsehole and kook to be on anyones "program")
Or any other recommendations for a good 14 foot ocean racing board that doesn't require selling a kidney
Maybe give Dale Chapman on the gold coast a call - Locally made and people rave about his boards, I have one and love it though i have never dealt with him personally as i bought mine second hand
