Hey guys,

After having a great time on my Mana GTW and having a social paddle I will need to go to the next level one day this year and get a Glide! However as in other posts the question arises should I get the 12'6 or the 14 in a GTW like my mana or do I get a 29 or a 30 wide bla bla bla.
Only problem is no retailers have a glide in all the sizes that you can demo and we are always saying demo before you buy especially when you are around the $2k and above! SO Naish Australia how about running a demo day and actually have a 12'6, 14 GS GTW version so we guys can try for ourselves and perhaps throw you some extra sales instead of asking questions on a forum and make a decision based on everyone else's preferences?

Just sayin!!!!!

Easy.. Defiantly a 14.. and defiantly 29.. and GTW if you can afford it if not the GS will be fine..

No need to even demo..

Hey DJ
i know you love yours and Naish are a great board, it would be nice to see each one and try them out before paying top dollar that's all.

Demos for most brands have been running pretty much non stop since Oct. I know Fanatic and Naish have pretty much gone up and down the coast 10 times running their demos. I know my local shop has demo boards at this time of the year. I'd try your local shop. I know a customer asked about a particular board today and they put one into their demo fleet for the customer to use straight away. I think most of the demos now will just be at the big events like the one in Vic last weekend and events like the one in Forster coming up.

Hey NNsup
yeah Naish had demos here in October, November I think but seem to remember they were more surf orientated. My local only has Starboard to demo and the next one only SIC, no one has a Naish Glide plus I want to see what the GTW looks like at 14ft just like I saw my mana GTW and loved it so much I bought it on the spot.
no point demoing another brand that is a different board to the one you want, when you any big bucks you should see what you are getting before you get it, Imho.

Totally hear you on that Dave, and in a perfect world I'd wholeheartedly agree. Playing Devils Advocate though, having a Demo board in stock for each & every model of even a single manufacturer would be a nightmare cost-wise for the local shops, and even the bigger ones. Then add in 3-4 big brands and you could end up having a 100-board demo fleet very quickly. It'd be great, but it's a hell of an outlay for any business to make, added to which the physical space required to store them all would be enormous. Hell, I struggle to fit 1 X 10ft Mana into my alotted storage at home!

Like I said, perfect world, absolutely. Reality, sometimes you need to research as much as you can, close your eyes and take a leap of faith...

Naish did have demo glides this year at The Zu - remember picking one up to compare the weight to the Jav.

Trust DJ's advice - you will not be disappointed if the Glide is the type of board you want. And if you get it and don't fully like it or outgrow it, resale will be no problem. But I think the lack of any big and wide Naish boards for resale is testament enough that they're keepers.

Unfortunately Demo fleets are prohibitively expensive and impractical to include everything. My new board I had to take advice from KR SUP centre without trying first. And I am not disappointed because the advice was spot on because they actually know what they're talking about from plenty of experience.

Get the best model you can afford and don't look back.

Here's DJs vid of the Naish demo day. Looks like they had both the 12 6 and 14 glides there. It's a pity you weren't in the market for one then. You'll have to wait another year till the demos come back.

Wow, you are very lucky to have such a great demo opportunity. We don't get anything that comprehensive in the UK for any brand.

I love the different coloured undersides of the Naishes, and the red flash at the back of the kick pad looks great too.

I've not heard anyone have a cross word about the Glide 14x29, ever since it came out. If it is the sort of thing you want (and it will be for many people) I think it would be as safe a purchase unseen as any, and much safer than most.
