Hey guys. I'm after a SUP to use here at Redcliffe, Qld.

I'm 185cm and weigh 105kg.

I'm after a touring style board with lots of bouyancy in the bow. We get some cool 1 metre wind against tide swells up here so something that excells in roughish water is what I'm thinking.

I'm used to long and sleak sea kayaks so am after a similar sort of quality in a board.

I'd rather buy secondhand and pay around $1000, but as always that's a guide.

Any advice? Cheers

Tardy

one good thing ,your on the right web site ,take a look at buy and sell ,touring and downwind boards
as you are 105 kg ,look for boards 28 wide and above ..12,5 or 14 will be more your style .probably the 14'
is your best bet .
if you prefer more speed .and length of board is not a issue for you having kayaked
happy hunting .

Check out the 11'2'' Naish Quest..

Naish dealers might have a demo that should be in your price range.

Cheers guys. I had a look in a store today at some really nice boards, a Naish, Starboard etc and I'm kind of in love, but I'm thinking of buying a second hand board to begin with.

There is a circa 2014 Hobie 14 E series for sale for around $900. Is that a respectable board for a newbie? It's 28 or 29 inches wide and 14 feet long.
