Hey All,
I recently purchased two SUPs for the missus and I. We love them. Everyone we know loves them. They've paid for themselves already with how much use they've had from us and our friends. Some friends are even buying themselves some SUPs after using ours!
Anyway, I also want to surf a longboard. I bought myself one a couple of weeks ago, and I think it's just too small for my size and lack of experience. It'll be fine once I can actually surf (I hope). So, been looking at budget boards more suitable for my heft to get some more experience and then transition to my 'smaller' board. A mate recommended one of the BIC boards. It's cheap(ish) and it's huge.
Looking at the specs, 9'4" x 27.5" x 3.5" (118L), my first thought was, "damn, that's just about a SUP"....
My 10yo daughter is a super star on our SUPs (Missus board is is a 10' that rocks in around 180L).
I know the shape is different, and there's a big difference b/w 120L and 180L, but what's that likelihood that the BIC could/would double as a kids SUP?
Only one way to find out, I guess!
I should add that I recognise that the deck pad, or lack thereof, might be a reasonably significant factor here....
Cheers!
