Our surf went flat for 6 weeks after I got my 9'4 Creek.
I have received a lot of messages, asking how it works in different waves, so this video is an attempt to show how the Creek surfs in a range of conditions. It has some crap waves from the flat spell, mixed in with the clean sessions this week.
This week I got to ride the Creek in some waist to head high glass, in a couple of different locations, so I got a good feel for it, along with some useful video footage.
My 9'4 is a fairly big board, designed to give me a mix of stability and performance in sub freezing New England winters.. so I have been extremely stoked with how well it is performing in summer glass, when I could be riding much smaller board.
In 3 days, I rode my 9'1 Acid, 9'4 Creek and 9'2 Skate.
The Acid got the call on the best day, because it was 5' and pure glass.. and my 1st chance to ride the smaller Acid. Great call, awesome day..I was awed by the performance...but at 109 kgs, the 5 hour session, on a 126 liter board, took it's toll and the next day I needed some float!
I was afraid it would make my much bigger Creek feel like a tanker, but I was super happy with how the Creek measured up!
Kinda long video, but I wanted to cover a lot of bases.
Full disclosure:
the board has my name on it.... so yuppers, I am affiliated ![]()
Thanks Creek
the hat cam is a good viewpoint. It looks like the "Creek" goes great. Fast and maneuverable. Beautiful board. I had thought that my next board would be a Flow. Now I am not so sure. I recently sold my short board and there is an empty space now on the board rack. ![]()

Nice waves and nice surfing! The Creek sure does work in a range of conditions. Did you record your session on the Acid? I would like to see that!
Creek, I was telling my missus a 69 year old bloke has a pro model and she was loving it. Doesn't sup or anything. the board looks pretty good hey.
That is super cool, love the positioning and nice smooth turns. The Suns shining, waves are glassy and riding your own board.
Not jealous at all ![]()

Thanks JBetts and Missus!
I keep looking around.... I haven't found the pro model anywhere. What's her name? ![]()

CSE... I did, but it was a super crowded day and most rides got cut short by obstacles.
I might be able to piece together a short...
Thanks Creek

Thanks, I am happy with the Kook Hat Cam.... super easy and pretty accurate look at the action.
I haven't found any weakness in the Creek yet... it just cuts though everything like butter, and quite snappy for a 9'4.

Thanks SB.... it does feel pretty darn sweet!
very nice Supthecreek but does it surf much different than the Speeed ( I mean when on the wave) ?
A completely different board, which has the awesomeness of the Speeed tail.
Turns effortlessly from mid board, pumps down the line.... faster snaps.
Closer to the performance of the of the Acid... but with more stability.
Nice one STC 69 years old and your a pro surfer with your own board model !!!
Your an inspiration to some one my age ( 35) to keep fit and keep at it there's a lot more fun to be had !!
STC how does the Creek compare with Speed in small soft waves (I tend to prone surf in better conditions). Thanks

The Creek is wider, size for size and goes really well in gutless waves, as does the Speeed.
They both do pretty well, for more performance oriented boards
My latest Creek vid (in the other active threads) shows how easy it turns in ankle lickers.
The big difference between the Creek and the Speeed is outline curve and rocker.
The Creek is designed as a full on performance board that is easily turned from the middle or tail.
The Speeed has parallel rails which means you have to be back further on the board to turn effectively.
I have surfed the 9'4 Creek and the 9'2 Speeed in the same session and preferred the Creek in every respect, IMO.
It is natural that I would feel that way, because I designed the Creek to surf more like the Acid than the Speeed.... and it does.
However:
If waves are really soft, I prefer the Skate over either the Creek or Speeed.
The Skate is a really fun board in low power conditions.
You may also want to check out the Steeze in similar conditions
Many vids to compare on my Youtube Channel, but I can't seem to provide the link here. Sorry.
Search youtube for "Rick Weeks Sunova" and you'll find a vid.... then click my name, to back into the channel to see them all.
