Hey! I was wondering if one of you guys have been on the water with the
404 Air Race 12‘6 or
SIC Maui Air-Glide X 12‘6.
Both not very common over here in Germany. (and not well promoted…)
How do they perform in flatwater or choppy sea?
I know the Naish One Air and Starboard Astro Touring. Maybe a reference…
Really appreciate your help by sharing your experiences!
cheers
Joe
Hi Joe
Never saw or tried the 404 Air Race 12'6, but I did tried SIC's Air-Glide X 12'6 (as well as the Prolite and Bullet inflatable version). SIC inflatables are premium boards, very stiff and light, and with great glide. When you fist look at them they don't seem inflatables. The new Dyneema Stringer adds a lot of stiffness to the board.
The X 12'6 is a great board for touring (fast and stable) and it can handle well the chop and ocean. The Prolite is the fastest inflatable I've ever seen and I think it could perform well on races.
Cheers
