Hi guys ,new to forums, I am wanting to buy a naish mana gtw in 10ft, I am 105 kg Ithink this is the best all round board for surfing head high to small stuff? I think at my weight I can through it around ? Mainly surf westcoast Victoria. I am planning to get the naish makani paddle in 8 size adjustable ? Any opinions would be great . Cheers john

Nice choice John ..great board ..for your weight.. and they surf great ..I've since dropped to the 170 Hokua ..but I'm 95 kg ..did have the 10 ' mana ' this year s wood looks great ..the makani has the nicest flex I do have the Kaholo as well ..but it is very rigid ..I mostly grab the makani unless it flat and need the stiff paddle .8.0 is good . The LE wave vario paddle is another option ..they flex..smaller shaft diameter..very forgiving.not that good in flat ..I find its too flexy ..as you loose a bit of drive .its for waves.stick with the makani .great all rounder .

I have one, love it, looks great, paddles great as long as you are not in a race or long distance paddle, great choice and not many out there so it stands out.

Are the manas a good allround board to ? Paddled one briefly as part of a demo seemed to track very well for a surf type board.ive been looking at Nalu then tried the Mana and thought it was great too

Yes the Mana is a great all round board and very stable, I tried the Nalu and then the Mana and preferred it. It does track well but in a wind can be harder to handle than a larger board but overall I find it great.

Agree the 10 mana can be a good one board ....having the 190 litre ..it does make life easy ..the 33' wide makes the difference over the Nalu .
i love the direction that the nalu's gives .and you can dig the tail in on a wave being a pin tail ...manas ,....shorter and looser .and a floater.
both are good depends what you like ..

I'm 104kgs and have had a Mana 10 GT for around a year. It's a great all rounder. Quite loose for its size in surf but it is 10 foot and 190 litres so you can't expect to rip. You can do cut backs, climb and drop and even pull off little reos, perfect for small waves up to overhead. Wouldn't like to try sucky barrels tho. I've got a arthritis in one knee so it suits my cruise approach to surfing and very comfortable hanging around out the back particularly if it's choppy or swells a bit messy.
Good for flat water exploring, definitely not a speed machine and you need to have good paddling technique and position on the board to get the most out of it. I'm playing around with a 71/2" long board fin set back in the box for flat water work, seems to improve tracking.
As Tardy knows I am contemplating getting another board currently and was considering a Nalu but it seems that the Mana is a better 1 board solution for my needs currently. So yeah I would rate the Mana 10 for what you are after.

Well, it depends on your SUPing experience obviously, style of riding, conditions encountered (chop, rips...)

As other have said, the mana is extremely stable, so it is a very good option if you are a beginner/intermediate.

Don't know much about them but while you're looking check out the Starboard 10'5 Widepoint it's in the same club and looks nice.

I think it's a toss up between the fusion 10 2 and mana 10 . I like the mana gtw it's a great looking board , it is so light in weight and has the better fibreglass fins.and deck grip. Than the other nanas. Just looks awesome. Good luck in your decision

I've been looking at the JP Fusion and Imagine both 10'2 X 32.... im 5'4 and 75kg... curious to know
why you finally went for the mana? Was it just price? Did you try the others out?

I chose the mana 10 gs because it is great board for my weight to learn on and I could through it around in surf . With the extra volume is a great asset when it becomes windy and lumpy. The board is also not to fat in the rails compared to others of that size . Also a got a great deal , for a first boArd a saved package about $900 , it will help me learn on until I progress to the next stage . Can't go wrong with the mana 10 for you first board. Cheers john

At your size the Mana 10 is way too much board. I'm 103kgs 5'11 and the Mana 10 is plenty board for me. My wife is around your size and she has a Mana 9'5 it's a great board in surf and on flat water for her. She was a non surfer prior to getting it 12 months ago and can now catch little waves and has a ball. I can paddle it fine as well.
I have just got back from a surf in 3 foot soft peelers and had a blast on the 10. It is suprisingly loose for such a tanker and is good on flat water as well although a little slow. A good all round cruiser.
