hi first post so go easy.
have a new 2016 fanatic all wave 9'4 in 'pure' construction. purchased knowing it was the entry level construction but was heavily re assured buy sales staff and fanatic that its a tough durable board.At $1600 i thought it would be. First surf.... fun. paddled in being stoked as with the new board and thinking I'm made a good choice. until i found a 4 inch lengthways crack halfway down the rail. Being the first surf on a new board i was pretty careful with no rail strikes and at no point hit the board with body or sand. Covered the crack with puka patch ding tape to make water tight etc couple of weeks later surfed it again. Second surf.... extra careful..sort of. pulled into a wave which closed out and I'm guessing the board hit the sand resulting in a chunk of the side of the nose being opened up. It happens and repair was cheap and decent but has anyone had any faults with new fanatic boards? This is my ninth sup of varying brands and first fanatic. All have held up to fair amounts of abuse far better than this one. thanks for your opinions.
Really tough luck kegger, but was it bad luck? no knee ? no paddle ? Head? Have you taken it back to the shop ? I was really considering the allwave but in the hrs . I would defenently take it back to the shop I have heard of bad batches and such . Oh and Thankyou I think I will go the starboard now 
I did put a similiar crack with a heavy heel placement on a no name board which I fixed with putty and a couple different grades of sand paper came out well . I now carry the putty in the car for a counter to my un-coness ie taking board of roof racks while door open neat little triangle hole fixed on the spot .
