Hope beau is on the new model come KoTC in december as they produce awesome vids every year of the race and its a great chance to see one of the masters of the ace and it being downwind to its full potential.

I want to see what those little winglets that attach to the rear look like and, more importantly, work like…!

You aren't alone there. I have trawled the web and the 2016 catalogue and there doesn't seem to be any images of them anywhere.
I am hoping that these will make the 25" Ace as stable as a 27" which they no longer make.
27" Ace's are like Rocking Horse Poo and Hen's Teeth.

They may end up being as hard to find as the wheels that attached to the old K15. Saw them in the catalogue, never saw them in real life. Likewise, there was a keel/rudder option for last year's 14' Touring board but I'm not so sure it ever materialised at least in this part of the world. I've got a 2016 Ace on order so I will be interested to see where the connection points are. Maybe I'll order the winglets just for ****s'n'giggles.

As I understand when he finishes racing his 2015 ace is going straight to the pool room so im pretty sure he will most likely be on the 2015

Hi everyone, the only new features on the 2016 ace models are more vertical and less thick side walls for more space in the cockpit and increased stability, as well as a flat finish on top of them...witch means don't fall on. Scoop will be similar to 2015, if no changes has occur before production.

so they're going to be even more of a PITA to climb back into?

Just got my 2016 14x23.5 Ace. Went skinnier because even if you get tossed off a bit, always healthy to be getting better at balance.

There seems to be more changes than let on.

In comparison to my 2015 14x25 Ace (have a 14x25 sprint as well):
Flatter rocker with significantly more volume in bow of 2016 23.5. Was a bit of a surprise such differentiation, but happy as using 23.5 for all around bay training and races, while keeping the 2015 25 as a super downwind board and for rougher days.
Rails are much more rounded on 2015 25. New board pretty straight up and down the sides.
Smaller finbox (8"v10") that is 6" further back on 2016-23.5. That means my VMG fins no longer fit.
Nicer sunken cockpit for feet, comfortable and lets you get your weight more forward.
Has mounts for water wings, but not sure I will ever see or use them.

Did first paddle and it feels quick and surprisingly stable for such a skinny board. Still a handful in a cross chop. Will be interesting to see what it is like in a swell.

We've changed our tooling and now have specific fins to fit the short Starboard finbox
