Notes on the 2016 Starboard 8 x 28” Carbon Pro
Just picked up a new Starby Pro this week and must say I was impressed on how it presented overall.
As much as I loved the 2015’s from what I can see there seems to be a few subtle changes to last year’s model.
It seems like the rails are slightly thinned out with perhaps the volume being put back in the centre of the board,
The fin box placement measured slightly different And from what I could tell there was a bit more concave towards the front of the board and slightly less v through the middle, though this was pretty subtle.
I have had two surfs on it now and I noticed it seemed to have slight better entrance speed on the take off to the wave.
Also it seemed more positively direct once the rail was engaged, and seemed to lock on the rail line better, especially on the round house cutbacks.
Paddling, yawing and stability all seemed about the same as last years.
