I was already to purchase one of these but I'm confused between the different Glide models. If you read the descriptions of each Glide model on the Naish site it sounds like the 14X29 is not designed to be used for downwind. They make it sound like the 12.6 or 30" boards are designed to have downwind capability but 14 x 29 for touring/fitness. Can anyone add any definition to that for me? I do want a model that I can use for downwind eventually as I gain experience.
Thanks Much...
That's odd.. The 14x 29" Glide is very much a true downwind board.. that can also be used for fitness and touring..
IMO where the confusion is is thinking that downwinding is racing.. If you think downwinding is all about speed and racing the Jav's are more in that ball-park..
The 14x29 is a great downwind board that your can tour on, its ok on flatwater but has a fair bit of rocker. Im 178 cm 87 kg, old, and love my Glide in all conditions.
What year Glide do you have?
From what I've read on here and other forums it sounded like it was a good downwinder but the product description on the Naish site had me confused.
My Glide is a 2015-16 model only regret is I didnt get a GTW. No matter the conditions these boards are good to go. I mainly upwind downwind or downwind. Flat water dosnt grab me.
