I have had an eye on a 8' 8" JP Surf Widebody(135L) Pro version as my next drop down board from my carbon version 8' 11" Fanatic Allwave(150L). I tried an 8' 2" Surf Widebody and was really impressed with the proper surf board rails and its manoevrability on the wave. However, at 92kg and 62 years old the 124 L volume was not enough. OK if water was flat, but any chop it was very difficult to stay on.
Just been on the JP website and see that this years Surf Widebody has an extra fin at back and the swallow tail has changed to a square tail. I am assuming that the rest of the board has remained the same shape as the last 2 years.
Can anyone confirm this is the case.
I spoke to a guy last week that rides the 8-2 and the 8-8 JP wide bodies and LOVES both of them. I think he weighs about 185 pounds. I would really like to demo them.
Great fun board ....I am about your weight but younger....if the shape has remained unchanged then can certainly recommend it.
