I have just received some pics of the new 14' raceboard from Sunny King. The dimensions as listed are 14' x 28" x 5 3/4" @ 10.5 kg's. I know Sunny King isn't one of the big names, but this board looks awesome. I can't wait to get my hands on one to give it a wirl.

Has anybody here ridden one of these???

I should have mentioned, I am in no way associated with Sunny King or SUP Warehouse.

My wife just purchased one if their women specific boards. The quality of it appears to be really good, it's light weight and the paint job looks pretty good too. I'll post review of it once we get it out on the water.

I'm really interested in hearing from anyone who as ridden one of the Sunny King race boards either new or old 12'6 or 14'. Ideally 14' tho.

Cheers,

We included a Sunny King in the SUP VIC / RPS 14' board test last Summer but it was a prototype and much heavier than the one you are looking at. It was 2" wider and 7kg heavier. That's a massive difference. For Nick to have shaved off so much weight from the board, I think it could be a good one.

looks good. prone paddle board influence, some edges on a wide tail. should be plenty stable. a all rounder perhaps.

seems to be the direction for 2013.

some many good boards around atm.

Thanks for the feedback, I really think this board looks great for the value.

My wife just got one of his womens specific boards to learn on, it arrived on Monday (posted Thursday) so really fast. It looks great, comparible in appearence with my Coreban Icon. We're taking it for it's first glide on Tuesda next week.

I took one of these out for a short spin in some wind and fairly choppy crap at the SK demo yesterday. I don't usually get on with 28s but this one feels very stable and well-mannered. Tracks well, punches into chop nicely, doesn't seem to get pushed about much in wind and and it likes a runner. The example I used felt a little heavier than 10.5kg (to be fair I'd done a hard 16k run shortly before and was feeling a tad feeble). Not sure I like the 'liftsup' handle but on the plus side it's in the right spot (amazing how some major makers can't get that detail right). All up it felt good, well worth a try if you can get your hands on one to demo, especially at the price point.

Thanks cartoon, I was hoping to get over to Melbourne in Feb and was gonne give one a whirl then, but not too sure if I'm gonna make it now. I'm really struggling to find out peoples opinions of the Sunny King gear and especially the quality and speed of the race boards. My wife just got one of their Stevie King boards which looks great, but being a surf board it's hard to judge the quality and performance of the rce boards.

Thanks again.
