Just returned from 10 days in Kota Kinabalu Malaysia where we took
our 2013 Starboard Astro Deluxe 9'x30" inflatable
Had so much fun honing our surf stance & bracing skills in the 25 metre pool, then off to the ocean, a lazy 2 minute walk from the pool to the warm shore line of the south sea of china where 1/2 a metre late breaking waves greeted us.
Being new to SUP surf, this was ideal & the board was great.
I'm 6 months into SUP with mainly river experience & SUP at sea is very different & a hoot.
We caught a few waves & are addicted.
A pic from the trip with my profile
Imagine getting ASI Certification & teaching people in exotic tropical locations :-)
Cheers Chris
p.s have sup will travel ~ this board has now travelled to Melbourne in the Yarra River, Sydney's Homebush Bay & in the ocean at Glenelg [:)
Hi Maxeeboy, you have just outlined the true attraction of SUP in its most basic form, great stuff!

Homebush Bay? Is your isup glowing red and yellow around the edges? That place used to have some wonderful smells, at least that is what my two-headed dog says.
ha ha Snowie, I must have been there at the right time, no pollution problems, insaying that, was August this year after good rainfalls, thank goodness :-)
