Rode the wide point for the first time today in 2 ft surf and was super impressed by the ease of the ride and its turning ability.

Compared to my old board, I noticed the weight difference straight away as it was super responsive to every paddle stroke.

It entered the wave nicely, and with the extra width felt super stable, the speed down the line was fine and it I came of the top with ease.

Did not have the same glide as my other board, but it did everything else better.

I weigh in at 85kg, so I would probably be ok on a 30” but still the 32” did not feel too wide in the smaller conditions,

My mate, who is 95kg, said he was really enjoying the proportions of the wide point and he was very keen to get it back.

Adding to Ioz review - AS I was the mate.

Being 98kg & 6ft-4 & 40ish years old I was amazed how I found this board so stable and super fun to ride in 2 to 4ft Perth Surf over the last week.

A few thoughts on board - not a lot of glide & you gotta bury your paddle to get up to almost glide speed - but strangley it paddles into waves very easily - the board really loves to drop into a wave - & even loves a steeper drop better and is amazing off the top & into cutbacks it is super fast. I found the board quick with alot of drive with the quad set up even in small 2ft faced waves. I reckon it would be super fun up to double overhead easy.

The board loves to be driven off back foot and pumped down the line like a surfboard. It has a heavy single concave in bottom & heaps of rocker so develops tons of speed on any wave face if pushed. Being 98kg I could bury the rail of this 130 litre board with ease and the carbon super lite construction was sooooooooooooooo alive and fun to surf it blew me away.

I.M.O - I reckon this board is for people who can surf at a good level already and want a S.U.P that you can smack a lip with. The board does not like to cruize on a wave as the full surf rocker will push water so it may not suit certain styles of riders. Infact I liked it so much I parted with cash this arvo & now own it - Thanks to Galvo from Stand Up Surf North Fremantle for the demo & doing the deal ..

P.S - Additional at 8-2 in length this board will give you a fantastic workout & no need to go for a 5km run or bland gym session after a 2hour surf on this machine.

Im on the 9'5 Wide Point and it really is the cruisiest board to surf. I was thinking of going shorter but the truth is I am a very lazy man and I like the board the way the board performs and truth be known I dont know if Im good enough to to really see the difference.

I've got a 2013 8'10" Wide point on order and hope to get it soon. I am currently on the 9'5" wide point and love this board. I'm very keen to have a go on the 8'2"... might have a go at the Coronna Classic in Nov.

Greg, I'm based in Broulee so if you ever want to have a go on the 8'10" WP when it arrives let me know.

cheers
