Hey! My partner and I are newbies to supping, done a little flat water and small surf once before. Wanting a board each good for flat water and small surf. I'm 60kg 5'7", my partner is 100kg 6'2". Need some advice please on what size, shape and Litreage?! Or even a board you would recommend. Thanks in advance!

Talk about opposites.

At 60kg you will want a much smaller board than 100kg

Some really helpful info about board choice here
www.blueplanetsurf.com/service/best-sup-standup-paddle-board/

Also some good suggestions in a recent thread here
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/Review/SUP-for-newbie-family-for-flatwater?page=1#8

other brands I would suggest looking into are SMIK which have some good beginner all rounder boards, in varying sizes depending on rider weight / size.

Also I think SUPthecreek, who is a very knowledgeable member here loves his Sunovas and has recommended the ONE as good board.

You'd both go well on a 9'8"x 34" Naish Quest.. Try and demo one.

Hey DJ, if beebee is talking about 2 boards, would it be worth getting 2 different sizes.

This could provide a little variety as skills improve, they could swap around, ie a smaller board could be more surf orientated and maybe a larger longer board, maybe better for cruising.

You would know better than me about the quest as I haven't tried one, but would the 9'8 still be pretty big for someone 60kg as it is 34" wide and 200L or are those stats on the Naish website wrong (it is wider and more volume than both the bigger quests).

Sorry I missed the part about a board each.. That's even better.. and I'd recomend a 9'8"x 34" Quest and a 9'5"x 32" Mana.. Perfect pair of boards for those two weight paddlers..

Hey beebee, welcome to the forum. You will get some good advice here.
Where are you located as that will decide on what you can check out or go online.
I'd be thinking you both want to get a wide board at 32" as that helps a lot with stability.
With your weight you can go pretty short but to help learning I'd go round 9' and your fella round the 10'.
There's heaps of different brands out there and all depends on your budget and taste.
I reckon you can't go wrong with an evoke each from the surfboard warehouse as I've surfed them for years and a very happy return customer. They are great quality and a fantastic price and good service too.
They ship them very well around Australia and pack them great so the guys here say, but I just go into one of the stores.
Good luck
