Hi,
I am looking for any tips on purchasing my first board. I am 164cm & 53kg
Looking for an allrounder for cruising and small wave surfing. I know my kids will be keen to have a go too :-)
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!
There are stacks to choose from and can be seriously confusing. The most important thing is to find a board you are comfortable with. If you can, get into your local shops and Demo, demo, demo. What is a great board for one person may not be right for another. Personally I would recommend something in the 9'6 to 10'6 range for someone your weight. I would be looking primarily at your Naish in either the Quest or Nalu, Fanatic in the Fly, Starboard in the Drive and F-One Manawa. These boards are all extremely well designed and represent great value for money. They are also backed by the strongest distributers in the country as well as having a strong dealer network. Don't be afraid to ask questions and demand answers. It is important you get the board that is best for your needs.
Thank you for the above tips and board recommendations - I am looking forward to getting out on the water :-)
