as i ran mr's with a 7" futures fin the board tends to be a little tail heavy. so i drilled a series of holes in the part of the fin that goes into the box to lighten it up a bit and have foiled the inside of the mr's to lighten them up and hopefully they go better with this oversize thruster setup
cheers
ps try tomorrow
Gday Lacey,
So your riding a DC8-8 right? Did you get fin humb from your future 7" in bigger waves? I did when I had it set up as a thruster.Changed it back to a quad, fin humb has gone.So not sure if it was the wave size, finbox off centre slightly or what, but its stopped and just love the quad set-up.So has the weight reduction made the diff,or what?,

I've got a set of the 'plasticy' opaque white MRs with a super small trailing fin in my 903 PSH-waves and wind have been shiit last two days (except for a VERY fun session at N Narra yesterday [on the 601]) so haven't had a chance to give it a go yet.
I tried the MR's with the original 8" centre fin - that was great for going in a straight line (and flat water paddling) - and then as a twin fin - wasnt to bad in small (tiny) surf once you were on the wave but was no good for catching waves as the swell caught the tail of the board it would pretty much just spin it around so it was side on.
Im not changing the current set up until I knock one of them out ![]()
Loco and tortise are on the money. I've got a PSH 10'AA and have gone from an 8" dolphin down to the 7 incher and its definately better. Get smaller side fins if you can, but if the surf is small or fat take them out - gaurantee you wont miss them!
WHOOPS I was replying to Fin Help and ended up in foiled MRs - sorry
couldn't quite bring myself to try sunny's around,so keep the 7" and put the sunny sides in - not bad
