I have cheap aqua boots from BCF with zippers that are never washed and 4 years old absolutely no issues with zippers.
I also have a boat on a mooring with zippers on the covers close to the water again no zipper issues.
Why can't these zippers be used on board bags??

Any Watersports manufacturer still using metal in ANY part of their bag zippers deserves a bullet - it's 2025 fer chrissakes !!!!!! Every wing or kite bag I've had with a metal zipper or pull tab has corroded and jammed . Every one. It's a pet hate of mine

The latest tarp fabric that all bags seem to be made of doesn't even last long enough for the zippers to corrode. Had a board stored in a bag under my house and the tarp plastic dried to rice paper and tore off when picked up. Another is spreading white microplastic across the planet if I strap onto the car. Just ordered a cheap canvas sock with a drawstring. See how that goes...
