Got the wing foil thing dialed going upwind and now starting to point it downwind. Finding it a lot harder as with the increase in speed down the bumps I'm breaching the foil then nose diving and stacking it. (Still getting some good lengths of flight though)Any tips...wondering if I need to move the mast back in the tracks. At the moment the mast is fully forward. Board...Wavechaser 180sf
Foil...Moses 873 on a 71cm mast
Wing...Duotone 5m
Any thoughts appreciated
The main issue is the size of that front wing is really big that's why it's blowing out. But you can try alot more pressure on your front leg and a smaller rear wing also takes the pressure off as well . 71cm mast is not that long so a longer mast will help as well (M82). The better you get the smaller wings you can start on , they can deal with the speed and troughs heaps better , I actually wing foil on the same wing I prone on 1277 cm2 , yours is 2100 cm2 so massive difference. You should have a look at the Moses W790 1550 cm2 you'll have a lot more fun on that plus go heaps faster without breaching.

Thanks mate. Yep it's big and I definitely blow out . I've also got the 633 Moses that I'm yet to use. Hoping it's not too small. Yep the 790 looks like a good in between
Move the mast back a bit and try it. It makes a considerable difference.
Thanks. Will try moving it back. We have 35 degrees and a cranking 25knot plus northerly on port Phillip bay this Thursday so good opportunity to try it out

Looks like my 633 front wing is 1250cm2 just a fraction smaller than your prone wing you use
Definitely think about a longer mast. I run the Axis set up with the wing ( 1000HA) , was breaching a lot in coastal swell on the 75cm mast, swapped to 90cm mast and problem cured. Didn't change position of mast in the tracks at all. To me the longer mast feels the same , you just don't breach as much.
I prefer my mast 12mm farther back when winging versus paddle-in foiling. The speeds are so much higher winging, we often find ourselves riding at the speed limit of the foil, so bumping the mast back just a little, helps avoid having to always be nose riding to hold it down. It also relieves a little of the sensation you're blasting along nose low, which is weird feeling. A smaller foil solves all of this, but not always an option if the wind is expected to have holes.
Thanks guys for the feedback...I'll give all those options a crack... mast back a little, smaller wing and possibly a longer mast. Look forward to seeing how it feels
