What parts of WA stay pretty sea weed free for DW? I looked at the maps of the range/habitats for our ribbon weed (Posidonia australis) and I would have thought once into mandurah should be pretty clear for SW/W and North of Joondalup pretty good for NW/W winds. I know we have other types like sargassum but these usually clump more and are easier to avoid..sometimes.
Pretty much just trying to find some ocean goodness in our winter. I know sometimes you can score a good winter sesh that is pretty weed free. I'm just looking to increase those chances and not have to be on the river the majority of the winter.

Good question Vince - I'd like to know too.
Weed is a major pain but if I remember past late winter seasons correctly there's less ribbon weed and more clumping weedbergs which are easier to avoid as you say. We've had many Crazies sessions with weed everywhere but still ok to foil ![]()
I haven't had a sesh out at crazies on the foil. Will have to give it a go sometime. I'll have to start taking more notice when I'm getting around of sea weed conditions.
