Interesting, seems like this might be missing the point a bit or possibly a very versatile piece of equipment

I've actually sold all my kite gear , so now as an ex kiter this could be an option but it really is a compromise compared to a kite it would be so heavy and be hard to fly .....But still a clever design and for the sake of throwing in a bar and lines to your kit someone will buy it.

Wonder if it will get you up and going in light winds like a kite does ? That would be handy

That's not a light wind set up.

I might be addicted to winging but I still have and use my kite gear.
I think the big plus of the wing over the kite is the simplicity of set up plus freedom, safety and ease of use of having direct contact with the wing as far as depowering for wave riding etc

For me ATM I think you either wing or kite.

I do reserve the right to change my mind down the track though.

I do remember mentioning something similar in one of my early posts before getting a wing. But much shorter. No strings but thin rope tied to handles I think?
But after using the wing I abandoned the idea. Haa!
But anyway. I think it would have its advantages in a place where wind breaks like breakwalls getting in the way of taking advantage of the full force of the wind.
A great idea if the wing can be used as a kite but predominantly as the Windwing.
I'm assuming the bigger wings like the 7Metres would be better?

Yeah having thought about it I find it hard to believe they could create a frame that is rigid enough to hold its shape as a wingding with no bridal support and still light enough to be a good kite.

You only need to hold an ozone reo ( surf kite) next to an ozone wasp to see that the inflatable frame is totally different for each purpose. Usually a design that trys to do 2 things well ends up being crap at both.

Or maybe they nailed, I only watched a 40 second video so who am I to cast judgement.

Yeah unfair to make a call without trying it but posting a hot launch to start , seems crazy and can't imagine parking it at 12 o'clock or drifting it , you'd imagine it would roll out of sky like a bowling ball .

Pretty sure you will need a foil to ride it and go upwind. Imagine KoTA on a wing!!! lol

I think they may have invented a new sport.....maybe we can call it "kitesurfing".
