A little clip i shot this morning and i am pretty sure SUPracer has posted a longer version or check out the one stand up paddle international facebook page.
Nice clip!
It notably shows two of the difficulties in turning with a foil:
- piercing the surface with the wing tips, it nearly happened at the start of the turn
- managing the board fore/aft angle when moving across parts of the wave with different slopes. We see how the board wants to nosedive when transitioning at the end from a medium to flat slope, and how the pilot must counter it with no proprioceptive feedback (meaning you do not feel the problem with your body, you have to monitor things - board height and angle relative to the water surface - with your eyes and react consciously). With normal SUP or surfing, you can perform a turn with your eyes closed, relying on your feelings. Not the case with foiling. At least at my level :-)
Yeah nice video Jacko saw the longer version on Insta , board & Foil looks great . Everyone has been raising the bar on tighter arcs. Fun times ![]()
The sport is progressing so fast it's hard to keep up with all the new gear.
