I don't see a specific prone foiling forum. My SUP is around 105L and what would be my SUP foiling board will be around 110L... that said, I haven't done SUP foiling yet. Soon.
I do have a question. My fishes and grovelers are around 35L. I want to start prone foiling as well... but I'm debating whether to order a dedicated 35L prone foil board or attempt to prone a 60L wing board. It would SUCK to try and duck dive a 60L board, but I might only take it out in really soft, high tide, small wave days. Thoughts?
Well I have a 39L prone (had a 34) and a 60L wing board and have prone both extensively. There's no magic to it - pure limitations of physics. Smaller one turns better and easier to pump. Big one catches waves very easily - easier to paddle but harder to pump and link. But yeh a 60L prones just fine. Can kind of duck dive it - but .
went out on a 36L the other day - only 19 inches wide versus 21 and only 4'8 versus 4'10. Guess what ?
smaller one harder to paddle and catch waves but turned easier and pumped better. Go figure.
Trying an amos custom 40.5L soon which is 21 inch wide (same as my prone) but only 4'6.
now that could be interesting.
