This is a one minute clip of a 2.5 min wave on a foil on open ocean. (it was cut to fit instagram) , not Sup but just showing what is possible. The foil is not a fad. I'm not sponsored by anyone this is just some tools in my shed.
i think this + downwinding will be the future of foiling
i think this would be bulk fun, dont really see most of the surfing videos so far as being fun

Of course, a lot of people said a few years ago that this new fad called SUPing didn't look fun on the videos...

North of the Seaway you need right swell direction and tide and these lumps just pop up , we have also got some runs on the 12 fathom reef line.

Originally we were just towing to test the foils , with full intention to paddle in only , but the tow in just opens up a whole new world.![]()
This is where I see benefits in foiling...not so much at surf breaks...
I dont know about that, their are uncrowded waves everywhere suitable for foiling, I just come back from a session only a few hundred meters from one of he most crowded spots in The Alley, caught some great fun waves on the foil and didn't need to bother anyone , everytime a few surfers got close I just moved out wider. Foiling is nuts, getting back in through a shorebreak is a bit sketchy though ??
