How cool is that must be an amazing experience on a windsurfer. Might be time to dust yours off DJ

Looks like a good use for a raptor

What is interesting is this trend of Windfoiling with a SUP and a SUPfoil: it seems a much better option than the performance-oriented gear we have seen up to now based on formulae boards with intense stress on the gear and the pilot.

Of course, maybe the SUP board will be destroyed in 10 sessions from the moment forces involved, like this Neil Pryde test pilot says in this very interesting talk on the JP / Neil Pryde designing of their Windfoil offering:

The only issue I had was 6 months ago when we attached a foil to a stock Sup and the leggie got wrapped around the mast and tore it out. Lucky it was clear water and shallow and we got it back but since then we are making boards specifically designed for the foil and no failures.

The standard mast mount for a Sup for is 21 inches from the tail but if you want to windsurf foil on the same board you will need to mount the mast point only inches from the tail .This presents a second problem that the fuselage must be longer to get the rear wings back to stabilize. All the windsurf foils have a lot longer fuselage so I question that the Naish foil in the above video will be the one for both Sup and Windsurf unless they have an interchangeable fuselage. They don't show much windsurf foiling in the video.

All that aside I reckon windsurf foiling looks insane and wish I was a windsurfer but I'll stick to my Prone board ,Sup & Kite no more room in my shed.

Check out the mast point mount and completely different foil design by Robbie Naish Windsurf foil in this video.

It would be great to one board to SUP foil and windfoil on. Just swap out the wings or mast or fuselage and have a fin box position forward for SUP and back fur windfoiling. I get my windfoil soon so will be earning my wings soon. At some point may look at SUP foiling but a hour windfoiling will equal a month on SUP foil in terms of flying time.

I can see my garage filling up with different types of foils soon in addition to my 4 SUPs and 7 windsurf boards.

This appears to be the prototype version of the Naish SUP, with 2 tuttle box mounting points?

But he appears to sail it with the front mount point?

windsurftom, yes, your last pic was what I was speaking of. Instead of trying to put the foil in a fin box existing on a windsurf board, just use a (strapped) SUPfoil board and adapt your windsurfing position to be more upright and centered.

The idea is adding a mast insert to a SUP foil gear, rather than adding a foil to a Winsurfing gear

Another example of this approach with a JP slate SUP (but quite dangerous without straps, of course...)
