New to foiling...been SUPING, surfing & kite surfing for many moons.
Getting into foiling & keen on the new Naish Hover, but trying to decide if the 125L will give enough stability for a beginner 80kg & 6'3"?
I'm thinking the 140L is too big & wide for me...?
Conditions for riding mostly 10-15kts & small chop.
I know this variation of question has been asked before - but maybe some guys riding similar boards could chime in?
Any advice is welcome!
125L all the way with your weight and sup, surfing experience great dual purpose board for winging and supfoiling my friend has one he's 190-200 lbs
I'm 6'3" also but I'm almost 100 kgs and I find my Hover 125 just fine.. It was a little tippy the first few times but it soon became pretty stable and I think if you went with the bigger 140 L board you would be looking to upgrade to the smaller 125 L board in no time.. If possible you should demo first to be sure.. I'd recommend getting a very large foil (at least the 1650) and it will help you heaps to learn foiling.. I'm using the Hover 125 L board and the big 2450 foil in this vid with the big 6m wing.
I have the 2019 Hover Crossover 120 liter. At 90 kgs, it floats me well. Yesterday took it out . I don't have a foil at the moment, so went wing SUPing. Wind died then got a paddle to SUP. Just a really fun board.
That being said, have you considered buying a used board? There are some on the site that might work for you. You may start on a larger board, then want to downsize.
