i feel like the naish foil line has been a little stale of late. Hopefully if these kinds of investments are being made they are also investing in an update of the foil line.
Wow Casey to Axis and now Kalama to Naish.
Adam with Cabrinha I believe.
That is the 2022 foil Mercato![]()
Zane Westwood to Lift. Back to the point at hand. Naish was a frontrunner to the foil market. This should bring them back into the conversation. Austin is one of the best out there when he chooses to foil :)
All just chasing the $$$$$$$
The same thing happened in Kiteboarding back in the day.
Er...the same thing that happens to any sport, any day since the dawn of sponsors?
Lol just another Foiler.no big deal
if we all lived in Maui we'd rip too.
def won't influence any foil buying decision I make GF is all you need imo, steps are crazy good

That sounds crazy. Is it speculation or a real sponsorship already in the making?
Great video there with Austin on the Naish gear, but let's face it, he could be on any gear and rip like that. Let's hope he has an influence on the Naish foil design otherwise all this will be is a lot of fancy marketing videos that IMO don't look any different from the videos of the other sponsored riders from all the other brands.

I think Naish has done something special with sponsoring a few of the grassroots guys. Whilst it's great to see guys ripping this hard, as mentioned, this could be done on any gear. Your average rider won't be doing 5% the tricks these guys can do, nor have the ability. But it's cool to see what's possible. David John for instance is out mowing the lawn, he offers that experience that 80% of riders will reach, so this is a real world example and kudos either way!
Do Redbull team riders really drink Redbull? I'll let you work this out
Rumor said...they get boxes of RedBull cans full of water, so they can guzzle it in the vids but sleep Ok at night.
But i do not think a pro can ride "A" brand gear labeled as "B" brand so easily if that is what you imply.
Too many gear addicts watching every detail.
Awesome news indeed..
Can't wait to see what he brings to the team..
His Dad would be so proud.

Yes his dad might be angry at first but then he might be happy for him as it means more dollars & more equipment to test out & compare / try (between the two of them I guess:-)
Pretty poor form by the Gofoil guys here. Congratulate the guy and move on. No need to get salty when this will help develop the sport all around.
I understand this could be seen as a moot point as a lot of team riders have moved on, but that's sport.
congrats again team Naish!

Yes I am interested in seeing more of him & any video & thoughts / talks, observations etc:-)
