The board is a 9'6", the Gong Neverstick www.gong-galaxy.com/magazine/pics/1-hour-4-boards/ about 8.7kg without pad (nor foil :-) )
Patrice says that the foil actually helps for the noseride, locking the nose in place a bit like when the tail is hold by the curl.
He says that he is trying to see if a foil can be used as a complement to noseriding, for people that want to surf and noseride more than flying.
For instance, raising out of the water only for a quick boost to go around falling sections or flat ones.
A foil with a very short mast (so that you do not risk to hit the bottom more than with a single fin), that also helps traditional surfing and do not hamper it.
If it works, it could be a very interesting approach, also very useful for beginners that have never "flied" before on a kitefoil.
great video and great surfing, obviously a very good surfer, i have seen small fins for longboards before that are shaped like a foil, and i can see how it would help with noseriding, just dont like how these foils are making there way into lineups with other surfers, like anything they have a time and a place

You are right.
Actually on this video waves was so weak that nose riding on a SUP foil was the single way to do surf riding with some challenge and grace., no matter if you wear a beard or not
obviously a very good surfer,
And also has been foiling for quite a long time (wakeboards, kitefoils,...).

Ok, so am I the only one that thinks there is something not right with this design? It hardly gets up on the foil at all?
Call me crazy but saying theyre small waves or gutless doesn't really work for me after I just watched the video below with swchietzer bros and he has no wave just pumping back out to the line up and is well up on the foil?
This is really cool! I have mounted a Go Foil on my 9-6 SUP and have been taking quite a beating. I was beginning to regret using my board. But this video gives me new focus. I can still use my board to ride waves, walk the board and maybe even nose ride AND someday get some liftoff for a different thrill. This has it all! I am a long way from that goal, but now have a new inspiration. Thanks for posting this!
