GoFoil has a new distribution network in Australia... Better availability of stock, now modular & interchangeable, better warranty service... The number 1 foil on the market....For dealer inquiries please contact Rob at- gofoilaustralia@gmail.com
You say that Go Foils are now modular and interchangeable - I have the 1st generation GoFoil and I am interested in the Iwa wing so now I can order the Iwa wing?
Will it fit the fuselage or has there been some changes to the connections to make it modular?
HI Stevo,
Yes you'll be able to order the IWA wing by itself but you may have to do some sanding or tweaking with your first gen GoFoil...It's probably worth getting the new IWA with Kai tail & 29.5" mast & using your Kai on that as once you go the longer mast it's hard to go back...There's new pricing coming out on that setup... speak to your local GoFoil dealer...
I had an epic 7km downwind foil session the day before yesterday where everything clicked... It's true what they say that it takes roughly between 6-10 sessions before it all comes together but when it does it is insane... Can't wait for the wind to blow ![]()
Hi Scotty,
It's been sent out to retailers in the past couple of weeks & all new retail pricing will be up on the website shortly...
I just got back from a trip to Maui & hung out with the massive foiling crew.... Heaps of both Sup & Prone foiling going on... Probably 50/50...GoFoil has some very exciting NEW products on the way... Definitely the foil of choice over there...

Any word on the new wings? Another forum has a few pics of a high aspect wing ridden aggressively by Derek Hamasaki. Would love one....

Alex from GoFoil posted this the other day-
Having some fun a couple days ago testing out some wings and GPS Speed accuracy with Austin Kalama...
You can see my GT31 speed sailing GPS hanging off of my arm to verify the correct speed I was hitting on each different wing setup.
I had been using the RipCurl 2 GPS watch solely but noticed it seemed a bit slow on the speeds. So I took both out at the same time and hit 27.79 top mph for the day recorded on the Locosys GT31 while the RipCurl said only 21.9 mph...
The GT31 is one of the ratified devices for checking accurate speeds so I am sorry to say that the RipCurl and most other GPS's are not very accurate when measuring speed

Thanks Chris for the pics!

If you read about the GPS sample rate, RC watch and many other "GPS" systems only sample every few seconds (or 1 second at best) at a time. This can make you miss your peaks. I have also noticed that RC records much slower speeds than Apple watch apps Dawn Partol, Water Speed and Surf Track, which all take frequent readings (although it chews your battery) they are much better for teching out.
i know I'm going fast if my face burns after slapping it into the water....
good news about the wings.

I have been measuring wave speeds using the TRACE GPS for 3 1/2 years. It measures 5X per second and I noticed that the RipCurl watches were ALWAYS slower. At first I thought I was just fast then realized the RipCurl was 20% slower when comparing the same wave that I might have been riding with someone else elbow to elbow.
80% X 27.79 = 22.2 --> Exactly what Alex measured above.
Going faster than 25 mph on a surf foil is difficult. But those larger waves have the potential. You have to start managing pitch control with smaller tails and use a tall mast.
Awesome stuff!
