About to score a deal on a kite foil setup but really wanting something I could put on a SUP too, as that's really the foiling I want to get into...anyway, anyone know if this 90cm naish hover will work with a SUP? Thanks a ton guys.

Described as low speed high lift, that's all I can really find out.

90cm mast? No way!!! SUP foiling will be extremely hard with such a mast.

From the pic, the aspect ration of the wing seems OK, but you should be sure that the total area is enough for your weight.

Also, kite foils are sharper than SUP foils, and thus much more dangerous.

So, I would definitively advise against it. Learning to SUP foil is not too hard with the proper gear and learning method, but it can become quickly an expensive dangerous hell if not.

Did you read the big warning on its web page? www.naishkites.com/product/hover-foil/

WARNING: DO NOT USE THE HOVER HYDROFOIL IN THE SURF. You will permanently damage your foil and can cause serious injury or death to yourself and others around you.

I figured that warning was just to cover their asses! Thanks Colas, I think I'll look for something more suitable. I do want to kite foil too, but mainly would want to SUP foil. Thank you.

You can actually cut 10" apx 250mm off that Ali mast , to get it to Sup foil length. Not an ideal foil for Sup foiling but with enough push it will get up. Good for learning behind a boat. I did the same to my Cabrinha Double Agent and that's what we teach guys on.

This is a before and after shot of the Cabrinha Double Agent before I cut it down , it was deadly at full length and I have the scars to prove it. But now it's my go to learner board behind the boat , my daughter even uses it , plus heaps more user friendly for kiting.

In all honesty, it may be also to cover their corporate ass. But since they also make SUP foils, there must be some truth behind this warning. It may be related to the resistance of aluminum in breaking waves (carbon will flex and recover its shape, aluminum will stay bended), or the sharpness of the wing, or... I am very cautious, but I couldn't avoid from time to time some uncontrolled situations while getting out of the water with some small shorebreak... a tough stress test of your gear reliability.

All the feedback I have read is that you can kitefoil quite well with a SUP foil, in recreational/casual mode (not seeking ultimate performance) but the opposite is not true.

There are plenty of Sup foils out there with Ali mast and the kite crew is starting to use Sup foils for low wind days and the Kai Go Foil is proving to be a winning and so should the Naish. They are now kiting on sub 10 knots on the Sup Foils

Of course! It all depends of the thickness and the quality of the Ali. (same for carbon or any other material)
If they made the warning, it may indicate something.

People were kitefoiling with kitefoils below 6 knots before SUP foils even existed...

Bugger me mate that's amazing but us Aussies were getting kites up in 3 knots with Vegemite rubbed all over them.
