Hoping the following photos explain how I installed & mounted my track block & foil. But hey. Nothing ever goes to plan as there is always a problem the first time. But I got through it.
Cut the hole using a hacksaw blade in a holder handle. Easy as.
Don't forget to add 1mm for every layer of epoxy over the high density foam sheet packers as this will raise the height of the track box that may end up above the hull! I had to grind 2mm off mine! I used close to 1 litre Bote Cote resin & 500 ml hardener, 2 to 1 ratio. And I think a full small tub of maybe about 400 grams of q cell, microspheres or filler powder in the epoxy mix for installing the high density foam & track block.
I used 6ounce fibreglass matting. About 6 sheets to reinforce the deck & about 3 to 4 sheets over the track box & hull.
Needed about a 15mm wedge to set the foil mast at right angles to deck so found one on ebay from Jono & Johno. Its a chainsaw wedge at 30mm thickness at fat end that cost only about $21 for two! That I split in half with a saw. Maybe a band saw would be easier but I took my time & persevered.
The foil tether was made from a piece of 90mm water pipe that I heated briefly to soften & mold around the mast. Then drilled a hole in it, tied on a cord & clip that is covered by a black poly irrigation pipe to protect the board from the clip.
Surfed it today & was very happy with the set up so far.

Nice job sea juice ...
i am thinking of doing this to my raptor ..and wondered how I would go about it .![]()
all clear ,thanks for sharing .
i was actually thinking of buying the double fin box system and glassing that in .?

I was think one of these ...might make the job easier .what was your length from the tail ,first cut ..nd when learning is is better forward on the box .
Tardy. My double fin box starts at about 171/2 to 18 inches from the inner part of the tail. I checked heaps of images on the net & found most boxes start about an inch back from the front of front side fins.
And yes I bought the double fin box from Surf FX. It makes the job easier.
But I also packed High Density foam between the deck & the box. You can buy sheets of it from "Playing With Carbon." I needed about another 40mm of thickness. My paddleboard was about 100 to 115mm thick. The box is about 60mm thick.
I also had to step the foam packing sheets to get the top of the box level with the rocker of the tail area of the board.
Oh. And check out Foil Smart on the net on how to install a tuttlebox. That's basically what I followed.
And this is how I worked out what thickness wedge I would need to get the foil parallel with the deck. The difference between the front & back of the box hole. In this case I needed a 15mm thick wedge.

thank you ,I just measured my raptor 128 ,its 72 -75 or just under 3 inches thick at that areas ,may not need much packing .
I BETTER go buy a foil ,so many different ones to buy ...was think a naish one .but not fussy.
I have quite a few sheets of carbon from past jobs ,because my raptor is carbon i might use this instead of glass cloth .
cheers for the advise ...and pictures ...my board is collecting dust so let get it out there ![]()
No worries Tardy. Yes use your carbon cloth. Supposed to be stronger anyway.
Oh. By the way. I used a 190 gram tub of q cell or microsperes. Not 400grams as I mentioned earlier.
Take your time with it. Haste makes waste. Lol.
