Hi folks,
Im after some advice. I've recently purchased a Gong 5' matata prone foil board and I'd like to have the option to use straps with it. Especially for winging. My local shaper will fit the plugs I just need to tell him where to put the inserts.
Gong have only been able to send me dimensions for fitting to a kite board set up with two straps at the front. I need to know spacings although I've ordered the 5 position inserts, the offset from the centre line and the width of the stance.
I wish I had measured my last gong sup as the footstraps were well positioned! Any help would be appreciated

Try using it with out stapes and see where your feet feel best . That's how I set up me kite surfboards

Just mail gong (info@...). They will be happy to answer any specific questions, such as where they put the straps on their various prototypes.

I'm not a strap fan but definitely worth putting in inserts , if you are thinking of wingdinging . Back one is pretty easy around centre of foil box , then measure forward from there from normal stance . However on the front one I would get double sets of plugs to give you more scope to move them , as different foils have different lift and you'll need to shift you foot to suit

Thanks for the input. I've contacted Gong again. At the moment they're only recommending a kite style set up with two straps up front. See what they say. I'd only use them with the wing but I feel they'd definitely be beneficial.
