How's this for a camera shot.
This is good mate Shep Nelson (Maui Local) is in Kaupo, Maui Hawaii. What an Awesome Photo, especially with the background enormity but this one with the breaking wave is staggering. When I looked closer at the whitewater "that was the back of a bump."
In Shep Nelson's words = Kaupo Run. So mind blowing and so glad we all made it back unscathed. So heavy.
Kaupo, an area of southeast Maui, is a rugged land with a deep history. Kaupo's remote location and lack of access kept Hawaiian culture intact there longer than in many other parts of Hawaii. Even now, the landscape looks much like it did hundreds of years ago. Thats is Haleakala National Park in the Background.

Wow, looks like serious DW conditions, wonder what setup old mate in the pic is on.Bet it's a smaller fast foil to handle that. It looks like there is a decent current running there too which would add to the waves.

Maui is the ultimate Island for DW paddling, (like if you are a Surfer you go to Indonesia for perfect waves - if you are into Downwinding you go to Maui for its wind) Maliko is very consistent But Kihei on Maui is even better than Maliko it's like taking candy from a baby but its very inconsistent. But the Kamalo Buoy on Molokai to Hotel Molokai that 13km stretch is the best in the World you'll do the fastest DW paddles od your life there.

When on Molokai contact this lady, Clare Seeger Albino. Clare is the Mayor of Molokai if you want anything when visiting Molokai Clare will get it for you, like say a Shuttle Bus to drop you off at the Kamalo buoy so you can DW back to Hotel Molokai.
(Clare was a Sponsored Windsurfing Champion in the 80's)

Now This is a World Class Photo "in my opinion" - When they say a picture tells a thousand words; this has go to be the one.
"Like, How's The Landscape."

Words of wisdom! Best single run of my life. Amazing conditions, can't wait to get back there.
