Thumbs Up

Have had my street long board for a while now and love it, but seriously thinking about an electric all terrain board. Really like the evolve carbon (sold out till Feb), and also have looked at the FIIK range. Anyone out there got one and has some feedback or suggest anything else worth considering? Thanks - Cooper

Thumbs Up

My mate just bought one.

I was out on my LDP board with him, (see)
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/Street-SUP/Long-Distance-Pumping-LDP-whos-into-it/?page=-2#lastpost
swapping back & forward last weekend.

His was somewhat like FIIK big daddy.

My impressions:
It's huge.
Heavy. (even with LiPo batt)
You're a mile off the ground (like 12"+) long way to fall.
Doesn't carve at all compared to normal board.

Knobbly tires good for off road, pretty jarring on road, not that nice, shake your eyeballs.
His came with slicks as well, & they'd be much better for road/footpath/occasional off road use.

We both have big feet and you have to be careful of footbite, very easy with the big wheels.

Where it would excel would be up & down hills. Having power up and braking down would be great.

My 1/2hr impression was that I'd personally go for one much closer to a real skateboard - unless it was for pure off-road use all the time.

Also being so big n heavy, use is limited. Like in the FIIK vid they're carrying surfboards. What do they do with it while surfing? Mate said he'd found that, you really just go out for a ride and end up back home. (not practical for commuting/etc)
