Anyone used a MidFish with a FoilDrive?
or ridden a MidFish unassisted, paddle prone ?
Im looking for a thinner, lower volume, mid-length board to use with my FoilAssist in both board mounted and backpack mounted.
The specs on the 5'2" MidFish look good, but hard to find any reviews of the board itself

I have used this board with FD unfortunately the connection is no good. It's possible by holding the remote over the vent plug however your arm gets sore after a while. The board is great using the Duotone assist definitely higher performance v FD, however FD is still great you can just feel the weight difference riding the Duotone.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated
Did you have foam in the tracks when using the MidFish with a FoilDrive?
My usual prone board (Konrad) is getting repaired at the moment and I can drive that board completely underwater like a submarine with no foam in the tracks, I have never experienced a signal drop out with the Konrad, so Im used to 100% reliable connectivity.
Whilst my Konrad is getting repaired I used my SMIK ML wing board with my Foil Assist and initially didn't fit foam in the tracks, wow, it it was basically unrideable due to the signal cutting out every time I got a splash of water over the nose. I came in and fitted foam in the tracks and ! Wallah ! great connection and I finally got a decent session on that board. Made me realise how great the Konrad works with FoilAssist.
So I don't want to throw money into a new board only to find that Im going to have signal drops when I use it with Foil Assist board mounted.

I put foam in the tracks and even let a friend try it with FD and we both had the same result. It does work with remote over vent if you can put up with it, it's a great board and the shape is so similar to a fish surfboard I used to ride before foiling took over.

Duotone have used carbon tracks for other board in their range. Like Armstrong in boards, carbon tracks block the signal to the controller. I don't know if the midfish has them, would be worth doing some research prior to purchasing.

That's strange the signal is bad beacuase I spoke to Adam Quinn from Duotone in the early stages and they did say they where going to make the boards compatible with FD by not using the carbon tracks. Looks like they changed their minds which is a pity beacuse they are great looking boards.

Hi,
The MidFish is an awesome all round mid length. It has been built with PLASTIC TRACKS to be compatible with FD. We have had feedback from riders who have had no connection issues.

The 5'2" is perfect for prone, really thin giving the best feeling from the foil. Our Team rider Luc Lohier rode the 5'2" in the recent prone comp following the NB downwind race and took the win:
