Annnnnd we're back!
With everything you could want in a threequel.
High stakes - cameo appearances - conveniently timed tow foilers - sunsets - tons of steeze and the best forward facing POV attempt yet
There's no like button on here. So I'm posting to say that I enjoy these video's very much. Thank you.The fact that you have moved on from evading pedestrians, to bicyclists and now police is also quite a fun detail :)
You are foiling incredibly well...I look at the screen and I'm wondering where I would go...even if with the drone's view...you see much better than on foil...I don't see any issues and there you go...picking lines after lines!! Woow...and radical turns also!!! Very very nice video!!
Susan on the Boil.
Fun fact.
The police spoke to me at the finish, they were looking for someone on a stand up paddle board.
A concerned member of the public saw someone that appeared to be "struggling" a long way out to sea.
I was fine of course but the struggle was real, I only foiled less than a km out of the 4k run I did.
They probably saw me as I was sitting on my board having a breather watching Nathan go past.
Uh oh ![]()
Did I see what I think I did this afternoon?
You did!
Unfortunately I had an Emergency Landing "Obstacle Avoidance is disabled" occur over water resulting in a drowned drone
No idea why this occurred!
I had just locked on to Nathan and was positioning the drone in the angle tracking when the gimbal went crazy
The app and controller were completely unresponsive
There was no way to RTH or even manually fly the drone
It hovered and gradually lowered into the ocean - never to be seen again!
Devastating considering I'm about to be going up to the Abrolhos Islands this weekend to shoot some Fliteboard content!
See what Skydio says with the flight logs
The only thing I could think to do was start screen recording on my iPhone - it's grim!
Oh **** that sucks. Abrolhos Islands would be absolutely magic ATM.
You would have got some amazing footage no doubt.
That last vid above was fantastic.
We were just paddling out downwind when I looked upwind and saw Nathan then saw the drone.
I was wondering why the drone started heading South into the wind and away from Nathan.
It was a long way off but I was sure I saw it slowly going down I was kinda screaming to myself GO UP, GO UP but knew you must have lost control. ![]()
I thought I saw a splash then never saw it again. ![]()

Awesome video especially when the drone is lower and you can see the texture of the sea. I've had the cops called out to one of my DW runs early on for the same reason too, There is a marine app in NSW you can log onto now, but haven't tried it yet.
